The competent technical Committee is ISO TC 110 SC3 was sleeping since many years and last year SC3 was formally closed. ISO TC 110 focused his attention to three standards:
- ISO 22879:2004 - Castors and wheels -- Requirements for castors for furniture
- ISO 22880:2004 - Castors and wheels -- Requirements for castors for swivel chairs
- ISO 22882:2004 - Castors and wheels -- Requirements for castors for hospital beds
After some international evaluations three ISO standards has been deleted. It was a bad result for our industry and during 2014 ECMA have been in contact with ISO TC 110 to find a “short term solution” in order to reactivate three ISO standards and protect/regulate our industry.
Thank to ECMA Association and the strong action made with main European manufacturers, we gain the support of TC 110 to solve this issue and carry on a great lobby action
After an international vote three ISO standards are close to be reactivated.
